{Face the Vase}

Chris went on a business trip to Pasadena last week and before he left he bought me an awesome bouquet of flowers. Which is super thoughtful and sweet, I know. What's not super sweet is that he left me with mountains of laundry and an overwhelmingly messy house to miss him in. The flowers were a peace offering, which I gladly accepted. This may not seem like a big deal to most, but in this egalitarian marriage- SHARING IS CARING... and that includes household chores. Anyways, those flowers got me thinking about VASES and how I’d really like to welcome more into my life.

Here are some I'd like to meet

{Homemade Fruit and Nut Bars}

I'm in to healthy snacks. I'm also in to portable snacks. So, I made up some delicious little "Lara bar" copy cats today. I must say they came out great. I don't mean to toot my own horn... but, i mean... toot toot!

No Bake Blueberry Cocoa bars
- about 1/4 cup of pepitas
- about 1/4 cup of raw almonds
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons of brown rice syrup
- 2 tablespoons do almond butter
- 3-4 dried figs
- 1 table spoons of cocoa power

1.
Blend the figs, blueberries, cocoa powder, brown rice syrup, and almond butter in a food processor.
2.
Adds the seeds and nuts. Blend briefly so that there are still larger chucks left.
3.
Mold the mixture in to a square pan or tupperware using a spoon. Make sure to pack it down tightly.
4.
Cut the molded mixture in to bars and remove from pan.
5.
Eat em up.

Pillow Talk

I love pillows. I'm serious. No, I really do. I love pillows. Just ask my husband. Every night in a whir of confusion he pulls multitudes of pillows off our bed, just so he can dig down far enough to reach the covers and climb in. It's true.

I don't love all pillows. Just the some. Mostly ones in natural tones and hues. Here are some I've had my eye on lately.

(No- not that fluffy polar bear. Just the other 2 cute ones)

A V-Day Crafternoon

So, i was browsing through my most recent issue of Martha today. Yes, Martha. Oh, don't judge me people. Please. Martha has hands-down the greatest recipes, DIY projects, party ideas, and suggestions on where to get really useless items like vintage cake stands and brass plates. So, no judging allowed. Sometimes a little M. Stewart is just what we all need.

Anyhow, I was browsing and i came across this great idea for a girly afternoon party.

We all know Valentine's day is coming up, and while this day may elicit a variety of emotions for many of us- I've always loved the idea of giving valentines to the people in my life that i care about. Opening a little valentine is a great feeling in my book- so why not encourage the giving of valentines by having

A V- Day Crafternoon Party.

What better way to get together with friends, drink champagne cocktails, and make some awesome paper goods? Are you with me?

(side note: i don't actually know these people, they just look fun.)

And boom, you have yourself a delightful afternoon with friends.

I'm feelin' lucky

Things have been a bit of whirlwind in the Dull life lately- which explains my recent prolonged absence from the blogging world... again... oops.

Bad blogger. At least this time it only lasted a month.

Now that the holiday hoop-la, late night gatherings, and out of town visitors are all over and done- I'm back in the business of blogging. Besides, all 2 of my followers were getting anxious about my absence and i just can't keep them in suspense.
I'm feeling lucky today. Bought myself a pair of Lucky jeans on sale for 50% off
and fell in love with

these boots
I fully intend to buy these in the VERY near future. Once Chris is done scouring the Internet to find them for the absolute best possible deal in the world- these will live on my feet.
